New Conservatory Theatre Center is the region’s leading producer and presenter of LGBT-themed theater. The company produces an eight- to ten-play season for a primarily gay audience, develops new works, and runs a Youth Conservatory and in-school theater education program serving more than 20,000 students. During the proposed grant period, the organization will endeavor to diversify its audience, deepen its engagements with young people, and undertake a strategic planning process.

Each year the company produces seven or eight mainstage performances; new play commissions; a diverse suite of on- and off-site education programs; and touring health and wellness programs for more than 35,000 children, youth, and adults. Renewed funding will support the organization’s efforts to expand its programs across the greater Bay Area, diversify and grow its board, and develop new audiences.
