Overview
New America is a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to renewing America by confronting the challenges caused by rapid technological and social change and seizing the opportunities those changes create. New America’s Education Policy program will undertake a three-year project to report on and promote the development of inclusive teaching and learning that combines OER and culturally responsive teaching methods; conduct policy analysis on this topic; and disseminate stories and recommendations on a national level. This grant serves key goals for the Education Program and the Open Education Strategy, including developing pedagogy, practice, and a more inclusive and responsive field. (Substrategy: Systems.)

for the Better Life Lab’s entertainment-focused narrative and culture change initiative
The entertainment-focused narrative and culture change practice at New America’s Better Life Lab seeks to influence TV and film storytelling by sharing data and research that encourage creatives to tell stories about abortion, pregnancy, and parenting in the context of people’s full lives. (Strategy: U.S. Reproductive Equity)
for bridging open education and equity in pre-K-12 learning and teaching
New America is a nonpartisan think tank dedicated to renewing, reimagining, and realizing the promise of America in an era of rapid technological and social change. New America’s Education Policy program builds on existing efforts to elevate the importance of equity and inclusion and the role of high-quality open educational resources and practices in ensuring academic excellence and well-being for all students. This will be accomplished through research and policy analysis, case making, community building, and the development of open tools and prototypes that can be piloted in districts and communities.
