Overview
The National Women’s Law Center is a multi-issue organization with legal and policy expertise on reproductive rights, sex discrimination, women’s economic security, and family policy. This grant would provide support for the Law Center’s Health and Reproductive Rights program, which also provides technical support and analysis to numerous other organizations. Its expertise on women’s health is well-respected by policymakers and opinion leaders nationwide, and its multi-issue approach enables the organization to build partnerships with diverse organizations to help expand the base of support for reproductive rights. Recent priorities have included monitoring implementation of the contraceptive coverage benefit under the Affordable Care Act.

This grant will support the National Women’s Law Center’s Health and Reproductive Rights program to protect and advance laws and policies that ensure that people have access to reproductive health care, including abortion and birth control. The Center conducts litigation, legal and policy analysis, advocacy, and technical assistance. Its multi-issue approach enables the Center to build partnerships with diverse organizations to help expand the base of support for reproductive rights. Priorities include protecting the Affordable Care Act’s birth control coverage; challenging efforts to allow providers to refuse to provide services; and ensuring that reproductive rights are not threatened in judicial nominations.
