Overview
The National Urban League works to improve life and educational outcomes for underserved communities, families, and students. With this grant, it will support local and state coalitions of education stakeholders with advancing changes in practice and policy that support equitable opportunities for learning. The group anticipates that these coalitions will have a strong influence and lead to improved teaching and learning conditions and outcomes, and further, that the agenda-setting and decision-making process will include the voices and opinions of those traditionally not included.

This grant will support a series of national convenings on assessment and accountability to include the voices and opinions of those traditionally not included and advance changes in practice that support equitable opportunities for learning. The Urban League expects that the influence of these coalitions will lead to improved teaching and learning conditions and outcomes; and further, that the agenda setting and decision-making process will be more inclusive of those who previously have been underserved and disengaged.
