Overview
The New Models Working Group is a funder-led effort to create greater coherence and clout among philanthropic peers and thought leaders working to dramatically increase the equity, effectiveness, and efficiency of learning systems and strategies to prepare all students for college and careers. This proposal outlines the concept for the project. Its design and activities will evolve over the coming year based on external opportunities and the interest and input of participating foundations.

The National Public Education Support Fund brings together foundations to advance programs proven to prepare underserved students for twenty-first-century challenges. A major goal for the coming year is to develop ways to translate lessons from high-performing systems in other countries into U.S. policymaking, grantmaking, and capacity building.

The National Public Education Support Fund is a national hub for convening and connecting leaders in education philanthropy, advocacy, research, policy, and practice. A signature initiative of the Support Fund is the Education Funder Strategy Group, created to provide foundation leaders with a learning community to exchange ideas on the intersections of philanthropy, research, and policy. The Support Fund also organizes the Partnership for the Future of Learning and Grantmakers for Thriving Youth. These collaborative networks of funders advance equity-centered ideas for strengthening public education. (Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)
