for general operating support
The National Constitution Center is a leading platform for constitutional education and debate, a nonpartisan nonprofit chartered by Congress in 1988 to "increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people." Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, the center brings together people of all ages and perspectives to learn about, debate, and celebrate the U.S. Constitution. The mission of the center is to fulfill President George Washington’s vision for a "national institution" dedicated to the "education of our youth in the science of government."
for general operating support
The Constitution Center is the first and only institution in America established by Congress to disseminate information about the United States Constitution on a non-partisan basis "in order to increase the awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people." Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, the Center is visited by more than 400,000 annually including more than 200,000 schoolchildren from across the country. The Center engages in a variety of activities, of which the most important is directing a national program of public education on the U.S. Constitution and American government, and serving as an intellectual center that draws both academics and practitioners to debate and discuss constitutional issues.
