for support of the Madisonian Constitution project
The National Constitution Center disseminates nonpartisan information about the Constitution and promotes active citizenship. In April 2017, the Center launched a balanced national commission called A Madisonian Constitution For All to consider what James Madison would think of our government and media in a populist age, and how to resurrect Madisonian values. A Working Group on Congressional Reform will concentrate on Congress, generating recommendations and a plan to implement them. To make the commission’s work accessible to schoolchildren, the Center will adapt it into classroom-ready instructional modules, pilot and assess the modules, train teachers to use them, and distribute them through its established networks.
for general operating support
The Constitution Center is the first and only institution in America established by Congress to disseminate information about the United States Constitution on a non-partisan basis "in order to increase the awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people." Located on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall, the Center is visited by more than 400,000 annually including more than 200,000 schoolchildren from across the country. The Center engages in a variety of activities, of which the most important is directing a national program of public education on the U.S. Constitution and American government, and serving as an intellectual center that draws both academics and practitioners to debate and discuss constitutional issues.
