Overview
This grant would support the Montana Wilderness Association’s efforts to secure protection for much of the remaining 7 million acres of roadless public land in the state. These lands provide habitat for some of the nation’s most iconic species, including grizzly bears, wolves, and native trout. To achieve its goal, the Association would work to broaden its support base, particularly among young people, sportsmen, businesses, tribal members, and women. It will provide decision makers with materials on the merits of protecting Montana’s roadless lands, and educate the press on the value of public land protection.
