Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
This grant would support the Montana Wilderness Association’s efforts to secure protection for much of the remaining 6 million acres of roadless public land in the state. These lands provide habitat for some of the nation’s most iconic species, including grizzly bears and wolves. In its efforts to protect these lands, the association would enlist a wide variety of people in the state, educate decision makers on the merits of setting aside roadless lands, and provide the press with materials that support roadless area protection.
for general operating support
Montana has over six million acres of unprotected Forest Service roadless land. These lands support abundant populations of wildlife including elk, grizzly bears and wolves and provide clean water for communities around the state. The Montana WIlderness Association uses research, education, outreach and volunteer time in its work to secure permanent protection for these fragile roadless lands. This general support grant would back the Association's efforts to safeguard the state's roadless heritage.
for general operating support
For 60 years, the Montana Wilderness Association has been working with communities across the state to protect Montana’s wilderness heritage, quiet beauty, and outdoor traditions. This general support grant enables the organization to educate the public and policymakers about the value of Montana’s public lands.
