Overview
The Education Policy Innovation Collaborative is a researcher-practitioner partnership housed in the College of Education at Michigan State University. The collaborative serves as the research partner for the Michigan Department of Education and is focused on addressing the most pressing policy and practice issues facing the state of Michigan. The state of Michigan is increasing its commitment to deeper learning strategies. The collaborative will support the state’s effort to advance deeper learning by evaluating the implementation of a seven-district pilot of competency-based education.

for a network improvement community that prepares teachers to focus on racial equity
The Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University prepares pre-service and in-service teachers through nationally recognized elementary and secondary undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The department’s programs prepare future teachers and teacher educators to become leading scholars and practitioners who deeply understand and work to improve education in its political, social, and cultural contexts. This project will support a network improvement community with Minnesota State University, Mankato; Cleveland State University; and California State University, Dominguez Hills, that seeks to strengthen teacher education through a shared commitment to racial equity.
