Overview
Music@Menlo approaches its tenth anniversary in 2013 as a well-established, internationally acclaimed chamber music festival, integrating world-class performances, extensive audience engagement, and intensive training for aspiring professional musicians. Its summer festival reaches more than 12,000 attendees, more than half of whom attend events free of charge. In 2011, Music@Menlo introduced a three-concert Winter Series, at which attendance outpaced projections. Over the next several years, Music@Menlo intends to focus on achieving the financial sustainability of a mature organization. As part of that effort, a $3 million fundraising campaign will bolster its cash reserve, provide risk capital, and allow for competitive compensation for the artists and staff. In addition, the program plans to refine the Winter Series brand and to continue expanding its audience base.
