Overview
Marin Theatre Company is a regional theater serving North Bay communities. Reaching annual audiences of 35,000 people, the company offers a season of six mainstage productions in its 231-seat Boyer Theatre in Mill Valley. The organization develops and produces new plays by American playwrights, including world and regional premieres each season, two nationally recognized annual playwriting awards, new play readings, and workshops. It offers education programs for youth and teens, including student matinees, a young playwrights’ festival, afterschool classes, classroom workshops, and summer camps. Approximately 6,000 students participate in its education programs each year. Renewed funding will support Marin Theatre Company’s continued efforts to incubate new work, develop its education programming, create an annual forum for artists of color, and improve its tech capacity.
