Marin Theatre Company is a mid-sized, year-round professional regional theater serving the Marin County communities. The company reaches more than 36,000 people annually by producing a diverse season of between five and seven classic and contemporary plays, often including a commissioned world premiere. The organization is nurturing the next generation of theater artists through a variety of arts education activities, including in- and after-school programs for local students. Renewed support would assist Marin Theatre Company as it strives to strengthen its professional productions, build upon the success of its education programs, and engage a broader spectrum of the Marin community.

The company reaches more than 30,000 people annually by producing a season of between five and seven classic and contemporary plays, including one world premiere and four readings of new works. The organization is nurturing the next generation of theater artists through a variety of arts education activities, including in- and after-school programs for 6,000 students. Marin Theatre Company’s vibrant artistic and managerial leadership is poised to look at opportunities to obtain more space as the company builds new audiences and outgrows its current building.

Marin Theatre Company is a regional theater serving North Bay communities. Reaching annual audiences of 35,000 people, the company offers a season of six mainstage productions in its 231-seat Boyer Theatre in Mill Valley. The organization develops and produces new plays by American playwrights, including world and regional premieres each season, two nationally recognized annual playwriting awards, new play readings, and workshops. It offers education programs for youth and teens, including student matinees, a young playwrights’ festival, afterschool classes, classroom workshops, and summer camps. Approximately 6,000 students participate in its education programs each year. Renewed funding will support Marin Theatre Company’s continued efforts to incubate new work, develop its education programming, create an annual forum for artists of color, and improve its tech capacity.
