Overview
The Community Investment Guarantee Pool (CIGP), managed by LOCUS Impact Investing, seeks to issue investment guarantees to enterprises, funds, and special purpose vehicles implementing climate solutions. The goals are for these early investment pools to mitigate perceived risk, crowd in private capital to achieve climate solutions at a much greater scale, and help teach the market about what is financeable for climate mitigation. CIGP will identify what types of climate investments are most suitable for credit enhancements, structure and underwrite climate guarantees, and determine and report on how CIGP and guarantee facilities can scale to crowd in more private financing into climate mitigation finance for low-income communities.
