for support of the Environmental Justice Priority Area Program
The Liberty Hill Foundation supports emerging grassroots organizations in underserved communities of Los Angeles County through its Environmental Justice Priority Area Program. This grant would support two programs. The Los Angeles Collaborative for Environmental Health and Justice seeks to change land use policy to reduce air toxics in low-income communities while encouraging green economic development;the collaborative proposes instituting geographic green zones to limit polluting industries in low-income communities. The Port Work Group, a coalition of nine environmental and environmental justice organizations, advances public health protections and green alternatives to polluting transport systems, advocating for zero emissions.
