The Learning Policy Institute conducts, commissions, and communicates independent research to shape policies that improve learning and collaborates with leaders in education, government, and business to advance evidence-based policies that support equitable access to deeper learning. The institute will lead an effort to document how deeper learning impacts and can leverage greater equity through a series of studies and commissioned papers, narratives about practice, convenings, and communication strategies. This work advances the Education Program’s strategic goal of pursuing deeper learning for all children, with a special emphasis on those who have been underserved in the past.

The Learning Policy Institute conducts and communicates independent, nonpartisan, high-quality research to improve education policy and practice. Working with policymakers, researchers, educators, and community groups, the institute will advance evidence-based policies that support empowering and equitable deeper learning for each and every child. The national move toward broader adoption of deeper learning outcomes will benefit from connecting practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels with the ideas, research, resources, and actions needed to imbue and support it in the education system from preschool through college and career readiness.
