Grants to this Grantee
for deeper learning stories
Learning Matters, under the leadership of founder John Merrow, has been producing documentaries and reports about education for the PBS NewsHour since 1995. This renewal grant would fund additional stories related to our Deeper Learning component and its alignment to Common Core standards.
for reporting focused on deeper learning
Over the next two years, Learning Matters proposes to produce five to eight reports a year on deeper learning to be broadcast on the PBS NewsHour. The reports, which may become part of a documentary, will demonstrate this pedagogical approach by profiling a number of best practices around the country. The goal is to promote dialogue in the United States about quality practices in education and the purpose of schooling.
