Overview
KQED is Northern California’s largest public broadcasting media outlet. Nationally, it is one of the most-watched Public Broadcasting Service television stations during primetime, and the most-listened-to National Public Radio member station, with 800,000 listeners each week. With renewed support, KQED would continue to develop its multi-platform arts editorial strategy, which emphasizes the centrality of arts to civic life and the cultural vitality of the San Francisco Bay Area. Support would enable KQED to further develop its Arts Service by hiring reporters and producers to develop original material for television, radio, the internet, mobile applications, and educational uses, as well as reach more people using digital platforms.
