Overview
KQED is Northern California’s largest public broadcasting media outlet. Nationally, it is one of the most-watched PBS television stations during primetime, and the most-listened-to NPR member station, with 700,000 listeners each week. KQED and its partner stations reach audiences across Northern California, from Sacramento County to Monterey County. This project grant will support publicity for the Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions initiative, and for the Hewlett Foundation’s ongoing support for the performing arts.

for support of the MindShift blog and digital reporting platform  
KQED informs and engages the public in California and nationwide with trustworthy journalism about key issues of community concern. This grant will support the growth of MindShift, a KQED digital reporting vertical that examines important developments and exciting practices in teaching and learning. This work advances the foundation’s Education Program goals of lifting up new exemplars of teacher practice, fostering new knowledge about transforming education systems, and providing a platform for new voices in our discourse about public education.
