Overview
Joe Goode Performance Group creates original, hybrid dance theater that contains a unique combination of text, vocals, media, and humor with physical, high velocity dancing, all expressing the artistic vision of choreographer Joe Goode, and reaching 3,000 audience members each year. A studio space in Project Artaud in San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood, acquired in 2011, has enabled the organization to provide multiple points of access to its work, offering more workshops and classes as well as utilizing the space for its own small experimental performances and rentals.

for general operating support
Joe Goode Performance Group creates dance theater works that combine movement, spoken word, song, and visual imagery. The organization offers educational programs to students and adults, and works with partner artists and organizations to develop new works, presented at its San Francisco venue and other locations. The group also rents affordable rehearsal and performance space to other performing artists and arts groups, and regularly co-presents classes and workshops for and with LGBTQ+ artists, people of color, military veterans, and people living with disabilities. The organization serves in-person and online audiences of about 4,500 in a year. Support of Joe Goode Performance Group aligns with the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
