Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Joe Goode Performance Group creates original, hybrid dance theater that contains a unique combination of text, vocals, media, and humor with physical, high velocity dancing, all expressing the artistic vision of choreographer Joe Goode, and reaching 3,000 audience members each year. A studio space in Project Artaud in San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood, acquired in 2011, has enabled the organization to provide multiple points of access to its work, offering more workshops and classes as well as utilizing the space for its own small experimental performances and rentals.
for general operating support
Joe Goode Performance Group creates unique dance theater with a dazzling hybrid of text, vocals, media, humor, and physical, high-velocity dancing, all expressing the artistic vision of choreographer Joe Goode. His work is distinguished by its large scale, artistic sophistication, and incorporation of Bay Area LGBT experiences into works for broad audiences. The group performs a home season in San Francisco and tours nationally and internationally. A new studio in the Mission’s Project Artaud will enable the organization to offer more workshops and classes, rent out space, and present its own small experimental performances.
