Overview
In recognition of the Hewlett Foundation’s 50th anniversary, the Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions initiative supports the creation and premiere of 50 exceptional works of performing arts. This grant will support the San Jose chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League in developing and presenting "Ikkai Means Once" by choreographer Yayoi Kambara. "Ikkai Means Once" is an installation dance project that will guide audiences through the impact and legacy of the incarceration of innocent Japanese Americans during World War II.
