for general operating support
The International Budget Partnership (IBP) leads a global civil society movement to use budget analysis and advocacy to improve governance and reduce poverty. IBP invests in the capacity of citizens to understand and analyze public budgets, participate in budget processes, and advocate for policies and reforms that make government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs and priorities of citizens, especially the poor and marginalized. IBP also promotes budget policies that are based on fair taxation.
for building civil society capacity on budget work in Francophone West Africa
The International Budget Partnership collaborates with civil society around the world to use budget analysis and advocacy to improve governance and reduce poverty. This grant will strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations in Francophone West Africa to carry out this work, and establish a regional learning network so that participants can exchange experiences about effective advocacy strategies. As a result, civil society organizations will deepen their expertise and effectiveness in making budget information available, understandable, and useable for policy advocacy and accountability efforts.
