Overview
The Simone de Beauvoir Leadership Institute is a nongovernmental organization that builds the capacity of feminist leaders to influence national and regional policy agendas to fulfill women’s human rights and demand accountability for gender equality. This grant will enable the Institute to strengthen citizen participation in Mexico by supporting two broad alliances made up of young people and indigenous women who, through local transparency and accountability mechanisms like access to information requests and budget analysis, will monitor the provision of sexual and reproductive health services in twelve states in Mexico.

for support of the Social Innovation and Citizen Participation Program  
This grant will enable the Instituto de Liderazgo Simone de Beauvoir to support the Social Innovation and Citizen Participation Program. The institute will (a) strengthen citizen participation of young, indigenous, and African-Mexican women; (b) improve sexual and reproductive rights services for young and indigenous women through transparency tools; and (c) conduct research on the use of transparency and accountability mechanisms to advocate for women’s access to quality public services.
