Independent Arts & Media is a fiscal sponsor for artists, journalists, and media producers — as well as PianoFight, the new venue manager of the only public transportation-accessible, black box theater in downtown Oakland, formerly known as the Flight Deck. This grant to Independent Arts & Media supports the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy by helping to preserve a performance space in Oakland that is an artistic home to a wide community of local artists.
