For Incorporating Clean Electricity Into The Renewable Fuel Standards

  • Amount
    $100,000
  • Program
  • Date Awarded
    11/5/2020
  • Term
    8.0 Months
  • Type of Support
    Project
Overview
The Schatz Energy Research Center at Humboldt State University will assess options to increase electric vehicle uptake in the U.S. using the existing Renewable Fuel Standard. This project will estimate the supply curve of electricity derived from waste biomass streams across the U.S., and also estimate the total number of electric vehicle miles that can be supported by this electricity. The Center and its partners will then develop briefs with recommendations for the design of regulations that enable the use of clean bio-electricity to fuel electric vehicles. (Substrategy: Electrification)
