Overview
The Schatz Energy Research Center at Humboldt State University will assess options to increase electric vehicle uptake in the U.S. using the existing Renewable Fuel Standard. This project will estimate the supply curve of electricity derived from waste biomass streams across the U.S., and also estimate the total number of electric vehicle miles that can be supported by this electricity. The Center and its partners will then develop briefs with recommendations for the design of regulations that enable the use of clean bio-electricity to fuel electric vehicles. Grants to this Grantee
for the Schatz Center's work on diversity, equity, and inclusion
The Schatz Energy Research Center, with this OE-DEI grant, plans to build a more inclusive team culture, establish processes to incorporate DEI into all aspects of their project work and improve recruitment and hiring practices to attract more applicants of color. The Center will work with a consultant to do a gap analysis and then undergo training to fill those gaps with the goal of transitioning to a much more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.
