Overview
Global Green will dedicate staff to coordinate the Los Angeles Clean Energy Coalition, comprised of six organizations working to ensure that the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)-the country's largest municipal utility-successfully transitions away from coal, toward renewable energy and energy efficiency. The coalition will work to ensure that LADWP reduces its carbon emissions to roughly 80% below 1990 levels by 2030, receives at least 40% of its power from renewable energy by 2020, and increases its energy savings to 2% annually by 2016 through energy efficiency programs. This work will help California meet its carbon emission reduction targets and further evolve the public utility business model.
