Overview
Since 2016, Girl Security — a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization closing the gender gap in national security — has been empowering girls across the U.S. to adapt to security challenges at the intersection of society, technology, and national security, the focus of which includes critical infrastructure, information privacy, cyber training, and disinformation. A grant to Girl Security aligns with the Cyber Initiative’s goal to catalyze better policy outcomes in cybersecurity for the benefit of societies around the world by creating a talent pipeline, as well as ensuring the broader engagement with decision makers and the public. Such efforts will ensure that the future national security workforce — including in cybersecurity — reflects the diversity of the world around us and harnesses the inherent security aptitude of girls and women. (Strategy: Core Institutions, Talent Pipeline)
