Funders for LGBTQ Issues works to increase the scale and impact of philanthropic resources aimed at enhancing the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities; promoting equity; and advancing racial, economic, and gender justice. The main ways they do this are: research on LGBTQ funding trends, gaps, and opportunities; outreach and support services for both funders that already support LGBTQ issues and allies that don’t (yet); and convening grantmakers to learn together and coordinate efforts. This grant is for general operating support and supplements an existing grant as part of the Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy.

The main ways they do this are: (1) research on LGBTQ funding trends, gaps and opportunities; (2) outreach and support services for both funders that already support LGBTQ issues and allies that don’t (yet), and (3) convening grantmakers to learn together and coordinate efforts. This grant will support costs related to the executive search and transition currently underway at the organization.
