Overview
Friends of the American University of Afghanistan is a registered nonprofit that is committed to supporting higher education in Afghanistan. The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) seeks to expand its current outreach in the area of science, technology, and mathematics (STM), with a particular focus on information technology, to strengthen the delivery of STM-IT education in Afghanistan. The effort is designed as a one-year pilot project to set baselines across five vectors: needs assessment, STM high school teacher training, high school IT boot camps for young women, to establish Afghanistan’s academic IT curriculum network, and to establish an IT pipeline.
