Overview
Fresh Meat Productions produces and presents art that explores and affirms the experiences, expressions, and visibility of transgender and gender-nonconforming communities. Its programs include an annual arts festival; year-round performing arts events, often produced in partnership with allied organizations; and a slate of national performances by its resident dance company, Sean Dorsey Dance. Fresh Meat also commissions new works and educates about the art and experiences of transgender and gender-nonconforming people. The organization reaches more than 18,000 people annually.

Its programs include an annual arts festival; a resident dance company performing artistic director Sean Dorsey’s original choreography; and production of performing arts events, in partnership with other organizations that reach people who cross or mix gender roles and identities. The San Francisco-based organization reaches more than 17,000 people each year.

This project grant would support the fundraising and pre-production phase for a new feature-length documentary about the seminal organization.
