Overview
Pacific Institute for Community Organizations (PICO) is a national network working on innovative solutions for problems facing urban, suburban and rural communities. This grant will support a two-year project of PICO California, "Building Trust through Reform", with the goal of building trust between communities of color and law enforcement within the state. The project will focus on creating partnership between community members and law enforcement as well as training community and faith leaders. We are collaborating with several other funders to jointly support this work.

for the Power of We project
Faith in Action, formerly known as PICO National Network, is a network of faith-based community organizations in the United States. A grant in support of the "Power of We" project will partially fund a major strategic communications and public education initiative. The initiative will increase broad awareness of the origins and consequences of structural disinvestment in California and create an integrated narrative about the Power of We. This nonpartisan project will include a vision for racial, economic, environmental, and health equity that reaches millions of residents via numerous outlets.
for community outreach in California on education issues
PICO California-a statewide, faith-based, community-organizing network-will organize parents and community members in more than thirty local school districts and at the state level to advocate for programs, policies, and resources to ensure that all students graduate from high school prepared to succeed in college, obtain meaningful work, and be active and engaged citizens.
