Overview
This proposed grant would continue initial work to build a community of practice among the ten school operators in our Deeper Learning Network. It aims to continue to develop a collective sense of purpose, vision, and shared projects among Network members and to continuously improve instructional practices and student results within their schools. In this next phase of the work, the community of practice will focus on developing a set of best practices for deeper learning instruction; disseminating those concepts and practices; considering how to act on larger issues such as leadership, districts/superintendents, and unions; establishing wider partnerships; and expanding communications about deeper learning.

Grants to this Grantee
for support of leadership transition
Envision Education works with students, schools and districts to improve student outcomes through the use of its portfolio defense approach. Envision also hosts the Deeper Learning Leadership Forum, a cohort-based leadership program that aims to develop, strengthen, and support a group of educational leaders to work at the intersection of equity and design thinking. This organizational effectiveness grant supports the transition of a new executive director.
for the Deeper Learning Leadership Forum
Envision Education hosts the Deeper Learning Leadership Forum, in addition to working with students, schools, and districts to improve student outcomes through the use of its portfolio defense approach. The Leadership Forum is a cohort-based leadership experience that aims to develop, strengthen, and support a group of educational leaders to work at the intersection of equity and design thinking. The grant enables Envision to support education leaders who are knowledgeable of deeper learning and equity issues and positioned to implement necessary changes inside their systems. (Substrategy: Educator Capacity)
for development of a communications strategy
Envision Education operates three high schools and shares its model of education with other schools and districts through its consulting division. With Envision's plan to incorporate staff and projects that are currently part of the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning and Equity (SCALE), this OE grant will enable them to engage a consultant to develop a strategic communications plan that captures their new combined body of work.
