Overview
The Deeper Learning Student Assessment Initiative was created by four partner school systems—Envision Schools, New Tech Network, ConnectEd, and Asia Society—to establish a new paradigm of achievement and accountability for students and teachers. The Initiative seeks to create a comprehensive way to assess deeper learning performance with online technology: the Deeper Learning Student Assessment System. This openly licensed system of instruction and assessment is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and uses performance assessment practice to drive students’ achievement in deeper learning.

for a deeper learning community of practice focused on assessment  
This proposed grant would foster a community of practice among the eight school operators in our proof points network. It aims to develop a collective sense of purpose, vision, and shared projects among the network members and to continuously improve instructional practices and student results within their schools. Activities will include network-wide forums, study tours designed to share exemplary practices and create collective accountability, and documentation of lessons learned to help promote deeper learning practices outside the proof points network.

This videoconference grant to Envision Schools will facilitate collaboration among the organizations in the deeper learning proof points network.
for general operating support  
We propose this general operating support grant to Envision Schools, one of eight school networks that we consider exemplary models or "proof points" for Deeper Learning. They are active participants in the proof points network and are engaged in a number of projects that align with our deeper learning goals.
