for a program to train emerging market investors to support and advocate for good governance
The Emerging Markets Investors Alliance educates institutional investors on key governance and sustainability issues, produces policy papers on these issues, and organizes dialogues between subject matter experts, investors in public markets, and government and company officials. In the past three to four years, the alliance has successfully mobilized and trained several investors in the U.S., Europe, and the U.K.; established thematic working groups involving governance experts and investors; and facilitated direct educational engagement between investors and government officials from emerging markets. This grant will enable the alliance to deepen its work on topics including fiscal transparency, extractive industry transparency, community consent, deforestation, open contracting, and corporate governance through a strong educational agenda and active engagement with governments and companies.
