Overview
Formed in 2010, East Bay Performing Arts is a unique merger of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Oakland Symphony Chorus, and Oakland Youth Orchestra. Inspired by the vision of a unified East Bay music community, the organization’s mission is to make orchestral music, choral music, and youth education accessible, particularly to individuals who might not otherwise experience live symphonic music. The alliance unifies the administrative and artistic resources of the three formerly independent nonprofits, greatly enhancing organizational efficiencies and opportunities for year-round and complementary education programming. In addition to a six-concert season, East Bay Performing Arts offers holiday and community performances, and education and outreach programs that engage more than 75,000 adults and children annually, including 21,000 students who participate in its quality music education programs.
