Overview
Earthjustice has been instrumental in defending legal challenges to the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate air pollution under the Clean Air Act. In 2014, Earthjustice will continue to defend federal clean air regulations and expand its legal work at the state public utilities commission level to ensure that new federal standards are taken into consideration in coal plant retirement decisions.

Founded in 1971, Earthjustice is a nonprofit environmental law organization that works to protect people’s health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change via legal strategies and partnerships with tribes and hundreds of community organizations. A Western Conservation grantee, Earthjustice uses litigation and strategic communications to defend protected public lands and waters and bedrock environmental laws. In 2012 and 2013, Earthjustice will continue its advocacy work, along with other climate, public health, and conservation priorities.

In 2013, Earthjustice will continue its legal work and support other climate, public health, and conservation priorities. In addition, Earthjustice will explore partnerships with NGOs in India aimed at promoting clean energy and public health outcomes related to coal use in electricity production.
