Overview
Diablo Light Opera Company, doing business as Diablo Theatre Company, has produced musical theater in Contra Costa County for more than 50 years. In a recent transition, the organization shifted from producing mainstage works to offering youth, age 4 to 18 years, a suite of education programs through its Youth Theater Arts Education Program. Each year, 400 youth participate in the program’s weekly classes and rehearsals, culminating in performance opportunities for youth in five popular musical productions.

Diablo Light Opera Company (doing business as Diablo Theatre Company) has been producing musical theater in Contra Costa County for more than fifty years. The company annually performs three musical productions at the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, which reach an audience of more than 40,000 people. In addition, the organization engages more than 200 young people aged four to twenty in musical theater through its Performing Arts Academy, which provides classes as well as two youth productions each year.
