Overview
Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) is a global South feminist network of scholar-activists who research, analyze, and publish critiques and alternative perspectives on global (and regional) development issues; and advocate for gender equality and the fulfillment of women’s human rights in multilateral policy spaces. This grant will support DAWN to develop a range of learning and communication products (such as videos, podcasts, and publications) for advocacy and capacity building on the impact of public-private partnerships on women’s economics rights. The grant will also support online and in-person advocacy and capacity building for young feminists from the global South. (Strategy: International Women’s Economic Empowerment)

for capacity building of a feminist activist African network  
This grant will support Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) to carry out a combination of activities, including analysis, capacity building, networking, and advocacy on the impact on women’s economics rights of public-private partnerships in social service provision and extractive projects in Africa. DAWN will analyze the impact of these partnerships on women’s economic justice; link African feminists working on this topic across regions; and support advocacy at key policy moments, both globally and regionally.
for capacity building of a feminist activist African network  
This grant will allow Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) to build upon their past work to strengthen the capacity of young feminists, by planning for and implementing integral training workshops. DAWN will invite African feminists to their annual Training Institute workshop, provide mentoring and capacity-building between workshops, and carry out an inter-regional learning and sharing advocacy exercise in Africa under the Gender, Economic and Ecological Justice Initiative.
