Overview
The Innovation Funders Project helps leading foundations find and fund transformative solutions to today’s most pressing social problems. The Project emerged out of concern that, as foundations have become more strategic, some have also come to support safer, more established methods with clear outcomes, and thus may be less likely to explore less-proven solutions or to take risks on ideas with truly transformative potential. Led by the Monitor Institute, the Innovation Funders Project will help to (1) build a base of knowledge about emerging practices to help funders support breakthrough social change; and (2) develop and support a network of funders focused on surfacing, testing, and sharing these best practices.
