Overview
Building and maintaining relationships with policymakers is essential to the philanthropic sector’s ability to advance the goals and strategies of America’s foundations. In 2009, the Council of Michigan Foundations (Grand Haven, MI) began an initiative to help regional associations of grantmakers around the country to learn how to work effectively with policymakers. This grant would begin phase three of the project, which would support grantmaker training programs and ongoing technical support to more than half the nation’s regional associations of grantmakers. (Renewal, $100,000/2; 21% of project budget)
