Overview
This grant will support the organization and facilitation of the Left Coast Evaluators community of practice. The group is an informal peer network for evaluation and learning work in California-based foundations. The topics for each gathering are determined by the host organization and by other members of the network. They have included case studies on specific evaluation projects as well as developing institutionwide knowledge management systems and particular topics such as dashboards. About half of each day-long meeting is devoted to presentations and discussion, and the rest to informal networking among the participants. All participants cover their own travel expenses.

Community Partners is a nonprofit that provides fiscal sponsorship for organizations to work in partnership to create more equitable, just, and vibrant communities. This grant will support the Human Rights Data Analysis Group, a fiscally sponsored project of Community Partners based in San Francisco that supports journalists, lawyers, and community advocacy groups in pursuing justice and accountability through technology and data. This grant will allow it to advance human and civil rights by amplifying local voices and strengthening advocacy efforts with advanced quantitative analysis.

Our communities, environment, and economy all benefit when nonprofit leaders have the support to not just survive, but to thrive. Fund the People argues that investing in the nonprofit workforce is the best thing we can do to increase performance and impact across the social sector. It is also a matter of ensuring social justice within the very organizations that work for social justice out in the world. To do that, they have created funder-specific and nonprofit-specific toolkits and resources, and an associated messaging campaign.
