Communications Consortium Media Center

For General Operating Support

Overview
The Communications Consortium Media Center is a public interest media center dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations use media and new technologies as tools for policy change in the U.S and abroad. Global population and reproductive health issues have been a cornerstone of the Center’s work for more than two decades. Unrestricted funds would enable the Center to contribute to increased financial commitments by the U.S. and other donor countries for family planning and reproductive health services; broader understanding and support of reproductive health and rights by policymakers, development researchers, and emerging next-generation leaders; increased media coverage and awareness consistent with the International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action and Millennium Development Goals; and increased capacity for outreach and advocacy among partner groups.

Grants to this Grantee
for strengthening strategic communications capacity of new advocates for FPRH
With these project funds, the Communications Consortium Media Center (CCMC) proposes to work with organizations seeking to influence reproductive health funding and policies in East and West Africa to communicate more effectively with policy audiences. CCMC plans to organize workshops for local advocates to develop more sophisticated communications strategies, including by identifying target audience and tailoring specific messages, and by using evidence and multimedia tools creatively.
