Overview
A project of the Common Counsel Foundation (Oakland, CA), the Windcall Institute has been dedicated to the renewal of leaders who foster civic participation in the social, economic and environmental justice movements. Windcall's central goal is to encourage leader longevity and organizational stability by investing in leadership renewal. A grant to the organization will enable 15 non-profit leaders from the San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast to participate in a two or three-week residency program in either Vermont or Washington. Residents will each craft their own learning curriculum, which may include peer support, reflective and writing practices, creative activities, and physical activities. In addition, Windcall will offer ten post-residency coaching sessions per resident. Coaching will help recent graduates implement lessons from their retreats and pursue more sustainable practices as they return to challenging work environments. (New, $34,392, 40% of project budget)
