Overview
The City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs will implement a new initiative, New Pathways for the Arts, a 12-month innovation training program featuring two complementary and simultaneous components: 1) a series of three Community Convenings for leadership teams from up to twenty arts organization, and 2) an intensive Core Program for a cohort of three organization to develop and test innovative strategies. The initiative is designed and administered by EmcArts, a leading provider of innovation services to the arts sector nationwide.

for the Office of Cultural Affairs' capacity building project with DeVos Institute
The City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs is partnering with DeVos Institute to present a two year long capacity building program for 15-20 nonprofit arts organizations in greater San Jose. Activities include six group workshops on topics such as long term artistic planning, marketing, individual fundraising, institutional fundraising, strategic planning, and technology. Each organization's executive director, artistic director, and board chair are expected to participate in the workshops. In addition, the program will include two online master classes, a "work path consultation" to define desired outcomes, and a local program advisor/mentor.
