Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Cinnabar Theater is a professional community theater that presents live theater and music programs for people in Sonoma County. In a typical year, the organization presents six professional mainstage productions, three youth repertory performances, and a concert series. Cinnabar also hosts theater training classes, camps, and stages performances for youth ages four to 18, and is home to two community choirs. This grant for Cinnabar Theater supports the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
for general operating support
Cinnabar Arts Corporation produces opera, theater, chamber music, world music, choral music, and arts education programs in its historic building in Petaluma. Reaching more than 10,000 audience members through its performances and classes, Cinnabar is an affordable "hometown" source of arts engagement for artists and youth. The economic downturn has had a negative impact on ticket sales and funding, and the organization made difficult decisions to cut back on some programming until revenues increase. Renewed funding would enable Cinnabar to stabilize financially and maintain its reach into the community.
for organizational adaptation
Cinnabar Arts Corporation presents a range of theatrical, musical, and operatic performances in its 120-seat theater in Petaluma. The organization serves young people ages four to 18 through a youth theater repertory program that includes theater training and opportunities to perform in plays and musicals. The organization’s programs and productions reach approximately 6,700 audience members in a typical year. This grant will support Cinnabar Arts Corporation in making organizational adaptations and advance the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
