Overview
Cinnabar Arts produces a range of theatrical, musical, and operatic works, as well as a chamber music series, in its 120-seat theater in Petaluma. The theater is also home to Cinnabar’s Young Repertory Theater, the longest-running and largest youth performing arts program in Sonoma County. This supplemental grant will help the organization recover from the fires that devastated the region in October 2017.

Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Cinnabar Theater is a professional community theater that presents live theater and music programs for people in Sonoma County. In a typical year, the organization presents six professional mainstage productions, three youth repertory performances, and a concert series. Cinnabar also hosts theater training classes, camps, and stages performances for youth ages four to 18, and is home to two community choirs. This grant for Cinnabar Theater supports the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
for general operating support
Cinnabar Arts Corporation produces opera, theater, chamber music, world music, choral music, and arts education programs in its historic building in Petaluma. Reaching more than 10,000 people of all ages through its performances and classes, Cinnabar is an affordable local source of arts engagement for artists and audiences in Sonoma County. A new program, Friday Night Live, has doubled youth attendance in the past year, and a new executive director has introduced a fresh strategic perspective. Renewed funding would enable Cinnabar to continue to stretch its excellent artistic reach further into the community while stabilizing its operations.
