Christian Aid is an international development and humanitarian organization seeking to eradicate extreme poverty by tackling its root causes, and working in partnership with local communities, stakeholders, and organizations in 27 countries globally. This grant will support Christian Aid to foster gender-just tax systems to advance gender equality and strengthen care-centered economies in Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe. Christian Aid bases its work on three pillars: Poverty (reaching those most in need in some of the hardest to reach places around the world); Power (challenging the systematic and structural causes of poverty by holding those in power to account); and Prophetic voice (speaking truth to power and building local and collective agency). Christian Aid’s work focuses on key thematic areas such as climate justice, gender justice, and economic justice. This grant will support Christian Aid to advance gender-just economic policymaking in the pandemic recovery context via influencing, convening, and learning.
