Founded as an observatory in 1883, the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, California offers visitors "the latest in hands-on, interactive exhibits, displays, and Planetarium shows exploring the mysteries of the universe and of life here on earth." Combined with activity-filled classes, workshops, Space & Science Camp, outreach programs and special events, Chabot hosts 164,000 visitors annually, including 52,000 students. This grant would support the Center's exploration of a new potential model focused on developing deeper learning experiences.
