Strategies
Overview
The Center for Health, Human Rights and Development uses research, advocacy, social accountability, and strategic litigation to advance health rights in Uganda. Recently, the center has played an active role in pursuing women’s reproductive health and rights in Uganda, such as the right to a safe abortion under certain circumstances. During this grant period, the center has decided to focus on efforts to increase the legal literacy of civil society organizations, teach communities in three districts to use social accountability approaches, and create tools that address rights violations such as a toll-free phone line and pro bono fund to provide legal support.
