Overview
YouthTruth is a program of the Center for Effective Philanthropy that offers student, teacher, and parent assessment tools to schools and districts across the United States. Since 2008, YouthTruth has surveyed over 1 million students and nearly 100,000 staff and families across 39 states. School leaders can use the feedback from these surveys, and the benchmarks provided, for needs assessment; professional development; strategic planning; and school model, instructional, or school leadership changes. This grant will support technology capacity improvements for Youth Truth, enabling higher levels of accuracy and data integrity as Youth Truth grows and serves more schools.

Grants to this Grantee
for YouthTruth’s Civic Readiness Project
YouthTruth is a national survey project, operated by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, that harnesses student and stakeholder feedback to help educators and educational leaders make better decisions, leading to better experiences and outcomes for students. Today, YouthTruth has surveyed over 2.9 million students and over 700,000 staff and family members across 39 states. This grant will support YouthTruth’s Civic Readiness Project, which seeks to learn from young people’s perceptions to inform philanthropic and school system partners’ efforts to prepare all youth to be civically ready members of society and to support the growth of a healthy, inclusive, multiracial democracy. The project will investigate which groups of youth feel civically empowered – or not – and perceptions of how school experiences promote – or impede – civic engagement.
